As a shameless atheist, proud supporter of LGBT equality and women’s rights, and general advocate of stances deemed unholy, I respect Tim Tebow.

I respect Tim Tebow because he seems sincere.

I respect Tim Tebow because he seems to have legitimately committed himself to making the world a better place.

I respect Tim Tebow because I can’t imagine the swelling, bursting, white-hot admiration I would hold for any openly gay or atheist athlete who took after Tebow and decided his or her way of life was more worthy of public pride than shame.
